The state

Rio de Janeiro is known for its soccer teams, beautiful beaches and the carnival party. It´s a place where you can practice sports and, at the same time, have fun with its amazing attractions.

But before you visit us, we will present you some interesting informations about this state.

Situated in the southeast region of Brazil, the state of Rio de Janeiro has the area fo 44 mil km², about 15 thousands of people living and is the second most important economy of the country.

Despite of it´s know for the beaches, the state is surrounded by other beauties as the mountain region, where is two of the cities we will visit: Petrópolis and Teresópolis.

The city

The capital of Rio de Janeiro is the city called by the same name. Situated between the mountain and the beach, this place has the most visited points of the state as Corcovado, Sugar Loaf, Maracanã, Ipanema and Copacabana.

The culture of the Rio de Janeiro city is so strong and famous. It´s the place where samba, choro and bossa nova was created. Everywhere in the world, someone has listened, at least once, the song "Girl from Ipanema", written by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes. It´s hot, sunny and marvelous!
